NBC's Today Goes To Ireland For St. Paddy's Day

Top ‘o the morning to ya! And the rest of Today to you! NBC announced today that their morning show Today will be traveling to Ireland for a special two-day St. Paddy’s day extravaganza. What better way to celebrate the Irish way than going over to the Emerald Isle?

Today’s Meredith Vieira and Al Roker will broadcast live from Powerscourt Gardesn in County Wicklow on Monday, March 16th to check out the huge country estate. Then on Tuesday, March 17th they’ll be at the Dublin Castle in Dublin City Centre as well as the route of the Saint Patrick’s Festival Parade. As part of the special two-day event, Vieira and Roker will explore the relationship between the U.S. and Ireland as well as the origins and influence of St. Paddy’s Day, search for the real St. Patrick and explore the myths surrounding him.

Viewers can also expect lots of information on Irish heritage, music, cuisine and fashion. According to NBC’s posting, 35 million people in this country claim Irish heritage so I’m guessing there will be plenty of people interested in these two special episodes.

Today airs on weekdays from 7:00 -11:00 A.M. on NBC.
