Nightcrawler Is Off To See The Wizard

Sci-Fi is continuing it’s successful run of min-series’ by hiring an X-Man to play a Tin Man. No, Colossus isn’t getting his own show on Sci-Fi. The network announced that Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler in X2) has been hired to star in an adaptation of Frank Baum’s classic The Wizard of Oz.

TV.com reported that Cumming will play Glitch in the new miniseries ‘Tin Man,’ a man who’s missing half a brain. He meets up with a group of companions during a journey through the Outer Zone (Oz). The idea has great potential to be interesting. It’s obvious that the story we all know and love is being reimagined. It’s been awhile, but I’m fairly certain the Tin Man had the brains. It was a heart he thought was missing. Maybe Cumming will break out into a little burlesque song and explain the situation in the first act.

Cumming is most known for his role as Nightcrawler, but has been a prolific character actor in the last few years. It seems he’ll do anything if there’s a chance to be on screen even for a moment.

No airdate has been announced for the series, but look for most likely later this year.
