Winter may be coming to HBO next spring, but Showtime has summer set to happen this winter when Shameless returns for its second season. How do the Gallaghers do summer? Catch a glimpse of what’s to come for them when the series returns in this excellent new trailer.

Based on a British series, Shameless stars William H. Macy, Emmy Rossum, and Justin Chatwin, and follows a dysfunctional lower-class family as they attempt to get by. It’s a little bit comedy, a little bit drama, and a lot of fun to watch. What’s ahead for the Gallaghers? From the looks of this trailer, plenty of summer fun.

Body shots, Frank getting tased, Lip surrounded by marijuana plants, and it looks like someone or something is getting crushed with a bat at some point. This is what we have to look forward to when Shameless returns for Season 2 on Showtime January 8th (9:00 p.m. ET/PT).
