Summer TV Preview: Saving Grace On TNT

The network that brought us the hit series, ‘The Closer’ is about to premiere a new series next week. Titled ‘Saving Grace,’ the series will be about a woman who starts out on a path to self-destruction but has the opportunity to turn her whole life around.

Academy Award winner, Holly Hunter plays the title role, Grace Hanadarko, a successful police detective whose personal life has become increasingly unraveled. She drinks too much, sleeps with the wrong guys and generally makes some severely poor decisions. One night she’s driving drunk and hits a man with her car. After praying for help she’s rewarded by a visit from an angel named Earl (played by ‘Deadwood’s’ Leon Rippy). Earl helps Grace get another chance and inevitably sets her on the bumpy road to redemption.

Along with Lippy and Hunter, also set to star in the show is Kenny Johnson (‘The Shield’), Bokeem Woodbine (Jason’s Lyric), Laura San Giacomo (‘Just Shoot Me,’ Pretty Woman), Gregory Norman Cruz and Bailey Chase (‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’).

According to IGN, the theme song for the new show was recorded by the L.A. based rapper, Everlast.

’Saving Grace,’ will premiere on TNT on Monday, July 23 at 10:00 p.m.
