Wilfred Season 2, Episode 9 - Honesty
This Thursday's Wilfred is called "Honesty" and once again, the preview doesn't really offer much by way of what the episode is about but instead a snapshot of weirdness taken way out of context. It is, however, always nice to see the FX comedy fully embracing its odd side since the best installments seems to be the ones furthest from any semblance of reality in terms of both the story and the cinematography.
Speaking of the cinematography, it seems that for at least a small portion of "Honesty," the boys will be making a short film of their own starring a gas-masked Ryan and a perfectly white kitten. Something tells me Wilfred wrote the script, "let the first blood be spilled!" Here's the clip.
I'm not sure how Wilfred got that scratch on the side of his face, perhaps he got too frisky with his feline star and she gave him a good slap, but having him wear the baseball hat is a nice touch. Ryan's outfit is a little more, uh, risqué and traditional when it comes to kitty snuff films. Not that I would know absolutely anything about those. After "Service" sort of stalled the momentum the second season had been building, I hope "Honesty" returns Wilfred to the fine form it showed in the few weeks prior to last.
The official synopsis from FX, has "Ryan and Wilfred go to extraordinary lengths to help Jenna's career" but I'm not sure, first, if those 'extraordinary lengths' include the film and, second, how the hell that film could possibly do anything to help Jenna's career. She deals in fluff not snuff pieces. Wilfred air Thursday at 10 p.m. ET on FX. It stars Elijah Wood, Jason Gann and Fiona Gubelmann.
