The 9 Most Disappointing Cancellations Of 2015

These are the 9 most disappointing cancellations of 2015, a year absolutely full of TV series coming to an end. To be clear, these are shows that were straight-up shut down by the networks, and not ones that ended in an amiable way. Torches are still burning over some of these.

Why Backstrom Got Cancelled, According To Rainn Wilson

Unfortunately, Backstrom was not received as well as other curmudgeon-based programs and was cancelled after one season. Here's why Wilson now says the show was cancelled.

The Following And Backstrom Were Canceled By Fox

With the broadcast network upfronts coming, everybody has been doing a lot of moving and shaking with their upcoming schedules. And it doesn’t take a highly-skilled investigator to see that Fox has grown weary of two of its most well-known detectives.

10 Great Freshman Shows That Deserve A Second Season

As we come to the end of the traditional TV season – which has been rendered all but moot by midseasons, cable schedules and streaming sites – there are still quite a few first-year shows out there awaiting word on whether or not they have a future.

Which One Of These Network TV Bubble Shows Should Be Saved?

This season, there are a slew of shows that have landed on the cancel and renew bubble, and depending on what deals the network is able to work out, some of them will land a renewal and some of them will be sure to be cancelled next month.

12 Network TV Shows That Are Probably Going To Get Cancelled

While some expected cancellations have already occurred and other shows have held on, at least for now, there’s a slew of fall and especially midseason programming out there that probably won't make it through the end-of-season spring cleaning at the networks. Here's our list of shows that will probably get cancelled.

Backstrom Review: Rainn Wilson's Mean-Spirited Detective Show Has Its Moments, But Still Needs Work

Rainn Wilson will next make his mark on the acerbic detective dramedy Backstrom, and if Fox gives this show a shot, TV might just have its next great angry cop. Or it might just have its next overtly racist, misogynist, disagreeable asshole.

Backstrom Trailer: Watch Rainn Wilson Act A Fool And Get Slapped

Fox is getting ready to splash Wilson’s surly detective all over TV screens this winter in the gruff comedy Backstrom, which you can get a new glimpse of here. But shhh. He's hunting wesbians.

Rainn Wilson Is A Wry And Rugged Detective In Fox's Backstrom Trailer

Rainn Wilson is coming back to TV in a big, stubble-covered way on Fox's criminally comic series Backstrom. As you can tell from the debut trailer above, Wilson will play a cocksure cop whose negativity is only buoyed by alcohol and talking about other people behind their backs.

Fox 2014-2015 Schedule Moves Brooklyn Nine-Nine To Sunday, Sets Gotham On Monday

Fox announced their 2014-2015 schedule this morning, and in addition to adding some of their anticipated new series -- Gotham included -- the network has made a few notable changes to their primetime line-up, including moving one of their popular live-action comedies to Sunday night and putting a new hour-long series on Tuesday, ahead of their New Girl/Mindy Project comedy block.

Hart Hanson's Backstrom Starring Rainn Wilson Gets Picked Up At Fox

CBS’ loss is Fox’s gain, apparently. Fox has given a series order to Hart Hanson’s drama Backstrom, which stars Rainn Wilson as an offensive, insensitive but probably capable detective. This project had a pilot order at CBS last year, but it didn’t go to series. It was waiting in limbo after that and now Fox has breathed new life into it.

Rainn Wilson To Star In CBS Drama Backstrom

Things not working out for The Office spinoff The Farm could turn out to be a really good thing for Rainn Wilson. Putting aside Joey comparison-predictions, NBC's choice not to move forward with the project left The Office star free to pursue other opportunities, which for Wilson, apparently includes a return to drama and a starring role in Hart Hanson's CBS pilot Backstrom.

24's Dennis Haysbert Joins Hart Hanson's CBS Pilot Backstrom

Dennis Haysbert may be making a return to a starring role in a television series in the near future, should things go well for the CBS drama in which he's recently been cast. The actor, who may be associated by some as the Allstate guy, and to others, as the President of the United States in 24 and Jonas Blane in The Unit, has been cast to co-star in CBS' drama pilot Backstrom.

Swedish Novel-Based Backstrom From Bones Creator Gets Pilot Commitment From CBS

A set of Swedish novels by criminologist Leif G.W. Persson is headed for a pilot at CBS after failing to go to pilot at Fox last year. Backstrom has a pilot production commitment from its new network home; it seems CBS has been after the rights to the books for some time and it looks like they’re moving pretty quickly on the project.
