Despicable Me Synopsis

In a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white picket fences with flowering rose bushes, sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbors, hidden beneath this home is a vast secret hideout. Surrounded by a small army of minions, we discover Gru (voiced by Steve Carell), planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He is going to steal the moon (Yes, the moon!) in Universalís new 3-D CGI feature, Despicable Me.

Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays, and battle-ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. Until the day he encounters the immense will of three little orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad.

The worldís greatest villain has just met his greatest challenge: three little girls named Margo, Edith and Agnes.

The First Minions Trailer Is As Goofy And Lovable As You'd Guess The First Minions Trailer Is As Goofy And Lovable As You'd Guess
Last summer, Despicable Me 2 managed to make a name for itself by becoming the highest grossing animated film of 2014. Despite the fact that Frozen wound up taking that crown away during its record breaking theatrical run, the latest entry in the series that gave us the Minions managed to make it a very good summer for those who enjoy the hijinks of diminutive yellow beings of lower intelligence.

Despicable Me 3 And How The Grinch Stole Christmas Get 2017 Release Dates Despicable Me 3 And How The Grinch Stole Christmas Get 2017 Release Dates
These are long term plans, obviously, but Universal and Illumination also have stuff set up between now and then. The next movie they release will be the new spin-off Minions, which will feature the voices of Sandra Bullock and Jon Hamm, and that will be coming out on July 10, 2015. The studios also have plans to release two original films in 2016, though those projects are being kept confidential right now.

Gru Meets His Match In Latest Despicable Me 2 Trailer Gru Meets His Match In Latest Despicable Me 2 Trailer
The film's first teaser was funny, but revealed little about the sequel's plot. But the latest trailer is far more forthcoming. It begins with Gru in suburban bliss, caring for his adopted daughters, Margo, Edith, and Agatha, worrying over boys and giving bedtime tuck-ins. Then, it kicks into full-gear when Gru is confronted by Lucy Wilde (Kristen Wiig) of the Anti-Villain League.

Sandra Bullock To Aim For World Domination In Minions Spinoff Sandra Bullock To Aim For World Domination In Minions Spinoff
Following the upcoming Despicable Me sequel, the Minions will have their chance to shine in all their yellow glory. Of course, where there are Minions, there must be a villainous master to serve. And that's where Sandra Bullock comes in. The Heat star and Oscar winner has been tapped to voice the lead villain voice in Minions, which is expected to arrive in theaters late next year.

Despicable Me Minions Movie Gets A 2014 Release Date Despicable Me Minions Movie Gets A 2014 Release Date
The Minions are coming! Those goofy, helpful, yellow creatures that provided some additional laughs in Illumination's computer animated comedy Despicable Me are getting their very own film and while the project still doesn't have a title, it looks like Universal Pictures has decided on a date, aiming to get the film in theaters at the end of 2014.

Despicable Me Minions Are Getting Their Own Spinoff Movie Despicable Me Minions Are Getting Their Own Spinoff Movie
If there were any breakout stars in the Illumination Entertainment animated feature Despicable Me, it had to be the Minions. Gru's babbling bunch of yellow helpers not only proved vital to the day-to-day life of his evil underground lair, but they also proved to offer some of the more amusing moments in the film, which had Steve Carell, Jason Segel and Miranda Cosgrove among the voice-stars. How would the Minions do with their own movie? It looks like we're going to find out.

Javier Bardem Passes On Despicable Me Sequel Javier Bardem Passes On Despicable Me Sequel
THR doesnít say why Bardem moved on, just that the part is back up for grabs. Losing Bardem stinks, but vocal talent on an animated feature is a little easier to replace. Heck, if you can find an animator who does a solid Bardem impression, Despicable Me 2 could be back on track.

Despicable Me 2 Gets A Promo Poster Despicable Me 2 Gets A Promo Poster
It's crazy how much Despicable Me made at the box office last year. Working with a reported budget under $70 million, the movie pulled in $543 million internationally making a lot of studio heads happy and guaranteeing a sequel. Sadly fans are going to have to wait quite a while for the second film to come out - as it is currently scheduled to be released on July 3, 2013 - but today a little taste has arrived online.
