Modern Warfare 2 may not have the Call of Duty prefix but Activision is still hoping it will sell like a Call of Duty game. In fact, they hope it sells a whole lot more than other Call of Duty games.

“We want to propel this year's title to be the biggest selling video game of all time," said brand manager Simon Wells to MCV. "That may raise some eyebrows, but step back and look at the franchise's trajectory through preceding launches, and this objective starts to look viable.”

World at War sold well despite being released only a year after Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare so MW2 should do pretty well, too. Could be tough to get the "best-selling game of all time" crown when people are still playing your previous two games in droves, though. Activision and Infinity Ward are really going to need to convince folks that MW2 brings a lot of new features to the table.
