BlazBlue Gets Punchy As Free PlayStation Plus Game
It's the last week of the month, which means it's also the last week of PlayStation Plus updates for May. Sony's heading into the summer in fighting form, however, offering up BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend for the Vita as a new addition to the Instant Game Collection roster.
We announced that BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend would be hitting the Vita as part of a PlayStation Plus update earlier this month, making it the third portable fighting game to be added to the service in the past several months. Being a fan of the genre, I'm certainly not complaining.
For those unfamiliar with the series, BlazBlue comes from Arc System Works, the team responsible for last gen's Guilty Gear fighting series. Like its predecessor, BlazBlue features a cast of colorful characters with varied fighting styles, duking it out in a fantasy world that has been painstakingly drawn into life by hand. It's a fast fighter and beautiful to boot, and the Vita version of the game comes with a metric ton of content including story modes for each character, arcade, training, tutorials and solid online play.
If you're looking to get punchy this summer, BlazBlue for the Vita is the way to go.
Along with ASW's portable fighter, this week's Plus update will also see a number of discounts popping up, as well as some timed trials. Both Fuse and Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time will be available for limited play as timed trials. PlayStation 3 game Hamilton's Great Adventure will receive a 50 percent discount, down to just $250, while Draw Slasher will be marked down by 30 percent, down to $4.19. The PS3 version of Germinator will be marked down by 25 percent while the PS3/Vita bundle of the game will see a discount of 40 percent, both totaling just $5.99.
