Namco Bandai has sent out several pieces of Dark Souls 2 concept art for us to puzzle over during the holiday break. The art shows off many of the fierce enemies looking to pummel players.

DS2 is set in a different world than its predecessor. However, it still appears to be medieval fantasy. Axe-wielding thugs and zombies are two types of enemies you'll encounter. The most intriguing image of the batch shows an undead chariot rider. Will players get to drive that chariot?

This will be the first game in the series not directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki. New directors Tomohiro Shibuya and Yui Tanimura are said to be taking Dark Souls 2 in a "fresh direction." It remains to be seen how much the game will diverge from Dark Souls and Demon's Souls, though.

Namco Bandai announced the action RPG for release on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. They haven't named a release window, but don't expect the game to arrive in 2013.
