id Software and Escalation Studios' iPhone/iPod Touch game Doom Resurrection is now available through the iTunes App Store. The $10 game is a rail shooter that uses many of the assets from Doom 3.

Players must tip the iPhone to and fro in order to aim at baddies. The game's single-player campaign offers about five hours of gameplay spread over eight levels. Escalation plans to release new features in the future such as peer-to-peer co-op multiplayer.

The announcement trailer is below. Next month, id Software intends to release Doom Classic, an iPhone remake of the original Doom. A Wolfenstein 3D remake was released through the App Store in March.
