Superannuation notes that the developer trademarked the particular title “Borderworlds” in the United States. With their first title being Borderlands, Borderworlds sounds like the next logical progression in the series. It's kind of like how National Treasure's sequel was called International Treasure.

The game's creative director, Mike Neumann, stated last month that a sequel was a "no brainer". In yesterday's earning call, 2K said that the franchise is going to be a key addition to their future line-up.
