Guerrilla Games has released Patch 1.05 for PS4 exclusive Killzone: Shadow Fall. This update makes many fan-requested changes to the shooter, such as adding support for left-handed play.

"The controller options menu now offers support for left-handed players," Guerrilla says. "Please note that this change only affects the analog sticks, not the shoulder buttons or the triggers."

Patch 1.05 also makes some edits to the single-player campaign. Guerrilla set out to smooth out scenes that players have complained about. "Secure the Target," the seventh chapter, now has a shorter end. The following chapter, "Outcast," has a higher collision ceiling for buildings. You should be able to fly over more buildings now instead of crashing into them.

Guerrilla says that the game also makes smaller, general changes to increase stability. Here's a brief summary from the official patch notes:
  • Several UI issues fixed
  • Error messages in Multiplayer amended to have better indication of the error
  • Edge-case crashes related to friends lists fixed
  • Additional integrity fixes for the patching system
The patch should be downloaded and installed automatically. Even if you're not playing your PS4 currently, your console should grab the patch anyway provided that it's on stand-by mode instead of turned off. There's a bug preventing the patch from being implemented in some cases; if so, you'll see an error message when you connect to a multiplayer match. Guerrilla says you should reboot your PS4 to fix this problem. After the patch is properly applied, you shouldn't encounter this problem again.

Guerrilla says that they're going to keep refining the game. They've said in the past that they're going to expand voice chat and also add clan support in the future. They encourage players to keep sharing their opinions through the Killzone Player Voice website.

Killzone: Shadow Fall picks up 30 years after Killzone 3. The new campaign centers around a shadow war between the Vektans and Helghast during their supposed truce. Shadow Fall also shipped with a multiplayer component with 10 maps and class-based progression.
