Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch, Wizardís Edition Announced
If you never heard of this game, it's okay. It's not one of those games that gets a lot of press and it's more of a traditional style JRPG brought into today's generation of gaming with updated visuals, gameplay and storytelling.
Namco Bandai and Level 5 Games announced today that Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch will receive a special limited Wizard's Edition that contains some extra bonus material for people willing to spend a little extra on this endearing looking JRPG.
As stated in the press release...
The Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Ė Wizardís Edition will include a 300+ page hardback physical copy of the Wizardís Companion, the spellbook Oliver uses throughout his journey in the game. The full-color Wizardís Companion contains a bestiary of all the creatures found in the game along with in-depth item descriptions, spells and history of the other world. The limited-run Wizardís Edition will also contain a plush doll of Drippy, Oliverís guide through his adventures, as well as exclusive ďgolden miteĒ and ďgolden drongoĒ DLC familiars.
All that nifty stuff comes at the moderate/decent/expensive/low/reasonable price of $99.99. If you're unsure about whether or not this limited edition is worth the price of entry, just check out the game's debut trailer and it might help you in making the decision.
I love that they have Studio Ghibli working on the animations, a company renowned for working with Hayao Miyazaki to create absolutely timeless, heart-felt classics. The game will also have a complete soundtrack composed by Miyazaki's go-to man, Joe Hisaishi, a man who has done many a heartfelt soundtracks for movies such as Princess Mononoke and Nausicaš of the Valley of the Wind.
If you've felt that many JRPGs and Eastern adventure games have been lacking lately, it looks as if Ni No Kuni could change all of that around. The game looks marvelous and it's set for release exclusively on the PlayStation 3 in North America beginning January 22nd, 2013.
