Resident Evil 6 Review Calls It Unforgettable, GoofyAuthor: Pete Haas

The first review of Resident Evil 6 has been published by US gaming mag PlayStation: The Official Magazine. Their review dubs the latest entry in the survival horror series an "unforgettable" experience.
Resident Evil 6 is a bit unusual in that it has three distinctly different campaigns. Players will take on the role of Leon Kennedy, Chris Redfield and Jake Muller in various areas of the globe. These campaigns are quite beefy and diverse. PSM's review states that the game has more content and variety than any other installment in the series. Story wise, the magazine seems less impressed. They characterize the campaign's plots as "too goofy to really take seriously." Still, they consider the storyline engaging because it depicts so many characters that have been part of RE lore for years. "RE6 is a strange experience, to be sure - but more importantly, it's an unforgettable one," said the review. It closes by giving it a score of 90 out of 100. The only disclaimer I'd attach to this review is that world-first reviews tend to err on the positive side. That's how a lot of publications get the greenlight to publish their impressions early. RE6 could be completely worth all of this praise, though. We'll see what the other early reviews say. RE6 will launch worldwide on October 2nd on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Expect to see a lot more publications weighing in on the game next week. Back to top
