The venerable fighting franchise's fifth console outing is finally finished and done. Namco Bandai sent out word today that the highly anticipated Soul Calibur V's development is complete and the game will be shipping out to a retailer near you, soon.
Carlson Choi, Vice President of Marketing, NAMCO BANDAI Games America commented in the press release, saying...
“Fighting game fans have been itching to get their hands on SOULCALIBUR V to begin mastering classic characters and new heroes alike,” ... “We are excited to see what top players and newcomers discover with the new Brave Edge and Critical Edge systems which are bound to create dynamic and exhilarating battles.”
The game will arrive in two different versions, one being the normal $60 version and the other being the limited collector's edition, which comes with the game's audio soundtrack, an artbook, two special armor sets for the character creation mode, and a faux leather book.
There haven't been too many fighting games released in the past couple of years outside of Tekken, Mortal Kombat and Dragon Ball Z, so fight-fans who fancy fighting with swords instead of fists will be glad to know that Soul Calibur V will be arriving in a few weeks for the Xbox 360 and PS3. And if you're not completely sold on whether you want to buy the game or not, maybe Ezio from Assassin's Creed will change your mind.
