The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct Opening Cinematic Inspired By TV Show
In advance of The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct's launch, the opening cinematic for the game has leaked to the Internet. Like the show itself, the beginning credits draw heavy inspiration from the television series.
The credits have the same music and style as the show. The various locations on display are presumably from the campaign. A trainyard, police station, cabin and small town are all shown.
Survival Instinct stars Merle and Daryl Dixon, two characters created by the TV series. Furthermore, it's a prequel to the events of the television show. It makes sense, then, for developer Terminal Reality to present the game as a counterpart to the show.
They're obviously hoping that the massive popularity of the show will boost the game's sales as well. That's probably a safe bet, at least initially. If the reviews turn out really poor, though, that might spoil the whole plan.
Activision will release Survival Instinct on March 19th and March 22nd. For another look at the game, check out the screenshots and behind-the-scenes video unveiled earlier this weekend.
