Goyer Directing Possessed TeenBy Rafe Telsch: 2007-11-12 17:05:04
David Goyer dealt with teen angst through a supernatural metaphor earlier this year in The Invisible. The result was less than satisfactory, although I still maintain that part of the problem was that Goyer only served as director, breathing life into someone else’s script. The Blade scribe has certainly proven he has the chops to bring supernatural stories to life in the past, but The Invisible just wasn’t up to his level of quality.
We’ll soon see how Goyer can do with another teen thriller as the writer/director is in final negotiations to direct an untitled picture about a teenager who discovers she is slowly being possessed by demonic forces and fights back. It just so happens that Goyer also wrote the script for the story, which would give Goyer a chance to prove me right… or wrong. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rogue Pictures, the studio behind the picture, is looking to start filming in February in Chicago. Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller are producing.
