Bill Murray is notoriously choosy about picking his roles to the point that you might call him recluse, or at least not fully committed to staying in the pop culture spotlight. But we'll be lucky enough to see Murray back onscreen a lot in the upcoming months, first in Moonrise Kingdom for his buddy Wes Anderson, and then in what should be a fascinating turn as Franklin Delano Roosevelt in Hyde Park on Hudson, for Notting Hill director Roger Michell.

If you see that as proof that Murray only comes out for a great role or a favor to Wes Anderson, you might be able to chalk this latest news up to the latter answer. Variety reports that Murray, along with Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Patricia Arquette, has signed on to A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III, the new film from Roman Coppola. In addition to bearing that famous Italian name, Coppola collaborated with Anderson on the scripts for The Darjeeling Limited and Moonrise Kingdom. Murray has been in all of Anderson's movies thus far, so I guess it stands to reason that he'd follow Coppola as well.

Of course, Charlie Swan probably won't be known primarily for Murray's involvement--- its first big casting move was bringing in Charlie Sheen to play the lead role, a graphic designer whose life suddenly spins out of control. The cast also includes Aubrey Plaza, Jason Schwartzman-- Coppola's cousin, don't you know-- and Katheryn Winnick, but I imagine all eyes will be on Sheen, as he expands his comeback efforts to seemingly every possible genre of TV and film.
