When Tammy screenwriters Melissa McCarthy and husband Ben Falcone decided to direct the film themselves, the two started building an impressive cast almost immediately. And when you want to add an extra layer of comedy to a production, who ya gonna call?

Not a Ghostbuster, considering the fate of that project, but just call Dan Aykroyd, who Variety reports has joined Tammy’s cast, joining heavy hitters Susan Sarandon, Kathy Bates and Mark Duplass. What’s more, Variety previously announced that actress Allison Janney (The West Wing) is also in talks to star, filling out all the film’s leads.

Tammy’s plot revolves around Tammy, (McCarthy) who is having one of the worst days of her life and finds herself fired from her job before discovering her husband is cheating on her. For her sanity’s sake, she decides to hit the road with her cussin’, boozin’ grandmother (Sarandon) whose lesbian friend (Bates) helps them out on their trip. Tammy meets a strange man (Duplass) along the way, and they develop an unusual relationship. Aykroyd will play Duplass’ father, who also encounters the ladies on their journey, and Janney will play McCarthy’s mother.

Aykroyd was most recently seen in Jay Roach’s The Campaign, and will next be heard in the upcoming Summertime Entertainment animation Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return. Janney, meanwhile, will soon be seen in Maggie Kiley’s Light Years, Nat Faxon and Jim Rash’s festival hit The Way, Way Back, and Jason Bateman’s spelling bee comedy Bad Words, as well as her role on Showtime’s Masters of Sex.

Production on Tammy is set to start up next month.
