DeVito Does Indie![]()
Danny DeVito is one weird bird. No, I’m not talking about his Penguin role; I’m talking about his spotty career. He’s had hilarious team ups with Arnold Schwarzenegger in Twins and Junior, directed the darkly comedic Death to Smoochy and showed his ass in Tim Burton’s Big Fish. Is there nothing the man can’t do? Apparently not, as he’s set to topline the “indie” comedy No Place Like Home, according to Variety.
The comedy follows a retired fireman whose golden years plans are squashed by his good-for-nothing, 20-something year old laze-abouts who still live at home. Thus leading to the obviously solution of kidnapping his own wife, who refuses to kick out her sons, and giving the kids the boot. That sounds about right for DeVito. Sam Harper (writer of Rookie of the Year) will direct his own script. Shooting begins on August 1 in Los Angeles. Expect this one to get lost in a sea of winter releases, with people murmuring something about that new movie with Danny DeVito. |
