Don McKay Trailer: Elisabeth Shue Has Some Secrets

he trailer for Don McKay, which debuted last year at the Tribeca Film Festival, popped up at Apple.com last week, and we're now finally bringing it to you here. Starring Thomas Haden Church as a man returning to his hometown to visit his ailing high school sweetheart, and Elisabeth Shue as that old flame with more than one trick up her sleeve, McKay is cleverer than many indies you see this time of year, and contains one astonishing performance from Melissa Leo in a supporting role.

It's also much funnier than you'll be led to believe by the trailer, but that seems to be part of the campaign-- suck you in with the murder mystery element, then surprise you with the comedy once you're there. Keep that in mind, though, as you watch the trailer below-- many of the moments that look super intense in the trailer turn out to be a lot sillier in the actual film. Don McKay, which marks the directorial debut of Jake Goldberger, hits theaters on April 2.
