With a cast that includes Billy Crystal, Bette Midler, Marisa Tomei, and Tom Everett Scott, Fox’s comedy Parental Guidance certainly has a few great things going for it. The film was expected to release into theaters this November, however it looks like Fox has decided to shift the date back a month, setting it for a Christmas release.

Directed by You Again‘s Andy Fickman, Parental Guidance (formerly titled Us and Them) stars Billy Crystal and Bette Midler as a married couple who come to understand the extent of the generation gap between themselves and their three grandchildren when they agree to babysit them. According to Variety, Fox has decided to move the release date for Parental Guidance from its Thanksgiving-week release of November 21 to December 25.

?At present, there really isn’t any family-focused competition among the Christmas day releases for 2012. Currently scheduled for 12/25/12 are Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, the Baz Luhrmann directed adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, and the Gerard Butler/Jessica Biel starring romcom Playing the Field.
