The Grey Poster: Liam Neeson Gets Serious
In the teaser trailer for The Grey that was released last month, there was one image in particular that really stuck with viewers: Liam Neeson, after surviving a plane crash and getting ready to defend himself from a wolf attack, takes a bunch of shattered alcohol miniatures and straps them to his knuckles. The scene lasted less than three seconds, but it was an incredibly memorable shot. It's a real shame that they simply didn't use that for the first poster, and instead went with something much more bland.
Check out the new poster below or full size over on Apple.
I don't think I can go as far as to say that I don't like this poster - Neeson looks like he's peering into my soul and that scratch on his cheek is pretty hardcore - but it does make me wonder what could have been. Even just having Neeson in a face-to-face showdown with a wolf would have been a serious improvement over this. Basically this feels like a major missed opportunity. Directed by Joe Carnahan, The Grey also stars Dermot Mulroney, James Badge Dale, Frank Grillo, and Joe Anderson. To learn more about the movie, be sure to head over to our Blend Film Database. |
