Hero Blend #75: What Comic Book Movies Can Learn From Star Wars

There is no franchise in the world quite like Star Wars. The George Lucas-created space adventure set a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away has enchanted multiple generations of movie lovers, and people of every color, creed, gender and religion appreciate it around the world. Every single brand in existence could take a lesson or two from the saga’s great achievements and mistakes in the last 38 years, but because Hero Blend is a show about comic book movies, that’s where this week’s episode is heading.

Obviously the superhero genre is booming at the moment, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some crucial lessons to be learned that could wind up making both DC and Marvel big screen properties live on the big screen for decades and decades. Between the original trilogy, the less successful prequels, and the mounting campaign for the future, there are a lot of Star Wars moves to study – but that’s why we’re here to break it down.

Joining me as my co-host for this week’s episode of Hero Blend is my good friend Germain Lussier (@germainlussier) from iO9, who also happens to be one of the biggest Star Wars fans that I know.
