New Hunger Games Poster Has Katniss Taking Aim
It’s a good day to be a Hunger Games fan. Those of us who are looking forward to the film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ novel got a glimpse of Katniss and Peeta dressed up for the opening ceremonies earlier today, and now there’s a new poster to look at.
The photo we shared earlier, showed District 12 tributes Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) dressed for the opening ceremonies of the games. Their coal-inspired costumes and styled-up hair almost allow us to think of what’s ahead for them as one big show, which is probably more or less how the Capitol treats the Hunger Games. This poster sets a different tone, reminding us that the “Game” ahead is a life or death situation, as kids from various districts in the future-set nation of Panem enter the arena with the hope of making it out alive. Most won’t. Skill is a necessity for any chance of survival. Fortunately, Katniss has just that with a bow. We’re reminded of that in this poster, which was originally shared by MovieFone.com... ![]() Katniss is looking determined and focused as she takes aim. There’s a reddish tint to the image, especially toward the bottom, which gives the image a fiery quality to it. Up top is the tagline, “The World Will Be Watching.” Sort of fitting to the movie as much as it is to the Games. The Hunger Games hits theaters March 23rd. More on the film can be found in our Blend Film Database. |
