New Identity Thief Poster Shows Jason Bateman In A State Of Distress
The nice thing about Identity Thief, the new comedy from director Seth Gordon starring Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy, is that not only does the movie look really funny, we don't have to wait to see it for much longer. Unlike most big comedies, such as Gordon's Horrible Bosses or Todd Phillips' Hangover films, that are released during the summer, the new movie will instead be arriving on February 8, 2013. But that also means that there's a lot more marketing material out there set to come our way, and it starts with a brand new poster.
Following the release of a pair of character posters and the first trailer, Universal Pictures has now released the movie's first official one-sheet. Those of you paying attention may have noticed that the image of McCarthy is the same one that was used on the character poster, but Bateman looks much more serious here than he did in his last one. Certainly not a happy camper. Check out the artwork below and click to see it in its highest resolution.
Based on a script by Craig Mazin, Identity Thief stars Bateman and Sandy Patterson, a mild-mannered man who learns that a trainwreck of a woman (McCarhty) down in Florida has stolen his identity. In order to prove who he is and get his life back, he travels down to the southern state to find her - but bringing her back is easier said than done. The stars are backed by a great supporting cast that includes Amanda Peet, John Cho, Jon Favreau, Genesis Rodriguez, Eric Stonestreet, Robert Patrick, Ben Falcone and Clark Duke.
