Les Miserables TV Spot Teases Castle On A Cloud

The previously released trailer and featurette for the feature adaptation of the Broadway musical Les Miserables have given us much to look forward to as December approaches. The latest TV spot adds to that anticipation, offering a tease of Cosette's "Castle on a Cloud" and a few glimpses at the Tom Hooper directed musical.

Based on the musical stage adaptation of Victor Hugo's novel, Les Miserables stars Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne and Aaron Tveit and tells the story of a number of characters living in19th-century France. Jackman plays Jean Valjean, an ex-prisoner on the run and hunted by Russell Crowe's Javert. Valjean has vowed to look after Cosette, an abused orphan played by Isabelle Allen when she's younger and later Amanda Seyfried. These characters, among others, are featured in the TV spot below, along with some of the other characters.

The spot begins with someone (presumably Cosette) humming the melody to "Castle on a Cloud," but then leads into Fantine's (Hathaway) emotional rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream." We've heard part of the song already in the previously released trailer and featurette. As excited as I am to hear more of the music from the film, I'm actually ok with not being spoiled on that just yet.

Also, at about the :14 second mark, we see a man being lifted up and people (mostly men) standing around. It's hard to tell, since it's such a quick snippet, but is that Sacha Baron Cohen as Thénardier? Possibly "Master of the House"? Or am I just so anxious to get another look at the character that I'm seeing things?

Les Miserables arrives in theaters December 25. More information, photos and video can be found in our Blend Film Database.
