Michael Jackson's 13-year-old daughter Paris is following her late father into show business, but she's looking to conquer the silver screen rather than the recording industry. People reports that Paris will star in the film adaptation of the YA book Lundon's Bridge and the Three Keys by Dennis H. Christen.

The movie will mix live-action with animation, and will star Paris as a girl who "survives being brainwashed by a jellyfish queen." No, really. Here's the Amazon book description:
The war between the land and the sea. Ancient sea-magic turns a dolphin into a human, an evil spell changes a teenage boy into a dragonfly and a once good and loving jellyfish queen becomes an evil fairy godmother. This modern day adventure forces an unsuspecting family to become the weapon to fight the war which rages on the land and under the sea.

Paris is clearly jumping into this whole acting thing with both feet. She has committed to five, count 'em five, Lundon O'Malley movies. It's pretty cocky of them to think they'll get five movies made when they haven't even put the first one out, but better to lock her into an extended contract then to risk the first movie being a success and losing her due to contract negotiations. The book was only published on November 18th, and the author isn't exactly a household name just yet. Still, the plan is obviously to entwine the book and movie releases from the get-go (Paris actually appears on the book cover, as you can see below).

I also can't pick on the book too much. According to People, half the profits for both the movie and the book will be donated to schools. Good or not, it's for a good cause, and that's more than Percy Jackson & the Olympians can claim.
