The Producer’s Guild of America held their annual awards ceremony last night, awarding The Aviator producers Michael Mann and Graham King top honors as Producers of the Year.

Martin Scorsese’s biopic about eccentric Howard Hughes beat out a formidable crowd of pictures, including Finding Neverland, The Incredibles, Million Dollar Baby, and Sideways. The award adds credence to Aviator’s Oscar bid for Best Picture. Eleven of the Fifteen PGA winners have gone on to win Best Picture.

Other winners for the evening included “The Sopranos” for drama series, “Curb Your Enthusiasm” for comedy, “Angels in America” for long form, and “The Amazing Race” for nonfiction. In a new variety category, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” beat out Dave Chappelle, David Letterman, and SNL.
