Disney’s low quality remake of classic family fare continues with a retread of the old 1959 Shaggy Dog movie. It’s another one of those great Disney family classics that I was happily force fed along with the likes of Swiss Family Robinson and The Absent Minded Professor. I’m pretty happy with them as is. They hold up, so of course Disney has to remake them. I’m sure it’ll turn out every bit as wonderful as their Robin Williams powered Absent Minded Professor remake: Flubber (sarcasm indicated). No word yet on whether or not they’ve figured out a way to add in extraneous things like dancing dog poo, but we have heard today who will be starring opposite Tim Allen in the unnecessary family comedy.

The rascally know-it-alls at Variety are reporting that “Sex in the City” star Kristin “the only hot one” Davis has signed on to pull ticks off of Tim. Davis will play Allen’s wife, with Tim Allen being the poor sap who ends up turning into an extremely shaggy dog. He’s no Wilby Daniels.
