The first trailer for Steve Carell’s next movie Dan in Real Life has just popped up online. While the film’s poster (to your right) is hilarious (Steve on food is good), the movie apparently is not. Dan’s trailer makes it look like Steve Carell’s bid to be taken seriously as an actor, or they’re just trying to make me vomit. I can’t tell which it is.
It’s a cliché monstrosity, an awful feel good about the complications of life trailer using that standard, cliché “oh isn’t life beautiful” music that every movie like this uses. After Evan Almighty Carell could really use a career recharge, and this really doesn’t look like it will be it. Steve plays an advice columnist and single father of three girls who falls for his brother’s girlfriend. Wonderful lessons about love and life and laughter ensue.

Actually i saw a test print of this and it was astoundingly good. Like made me laugh and cry, and love Steve Carrell even more good. This is just a really crappy trailer with really crappy narration and music.
I believe that Steve Carell is just getting started
in his career. I think that he is cute and cuddly and alot of women would find him attractive. Hollywood needs some new blood. If it was up to me his career would be in the highest regard. I bought a Copy of the 40 year old virgin and have viewed at least 10 times.

Did you see Little Miss Sunshine? If so, this shouldn't be such a surprise. I'm pretty sure people liked his performance in that (I know I did).
