MOVIE NEWS
Transformers 2 Delayed?![]()
While the Cinema Blend news crew was away on vacation enjoying their complimentary holiday hams, The Hollywood Reporter slipped a nasty bit of news by us. Remember how excited you were over Transformers 2? Well you could be in for a long wait. Some think the sequel may end up being delayed. Not me, unless of course Michael Bay goes on another one of his mad, late-night posting binges again and derails the whole production, but some.
The concern comes from the believe that Paramount Pictures had the sequel slotted for a June 26, 2009 release. However, HR’s story December 28th story says the movie is “as-yet-unslotted”. Some have taken that to mean the project is in trouble. All it actually means is… they haven’t even started making the movie yet. Isn’t it kind of stupid to set a release date for it? And even if they did set one, there’s a pretty good chance they might not stick to it once all the chips are down. There’s been something of a mini-fan panic over this un-dating of Transformers 2’s release. I wouldn’t worry folks. Unless Hollywood ends up paralyzed by multiple strikes for the bulk of 2008, it’ll happen, and probably in 2009. Michael Bay, in a message left on his official site December 31st seems to indicate that things are still moving forward as planned. He says, “Transformers 2 will be coming soon. The new robots are really really unique and there are a lot of them this time.” It’ll get here, eventually, and you’ll love it. |
