Amidst all the hustle and bustle last night of the new Star Wars: Episode III trailer coming out, Columbia Pictures put out a trailer that went largely unnoticed for their upcoming film Zathura. I’m not quite sure what the thought process to this was. Much like nobody wants to open a movie the same weekend as Star Wars, would you want to open your trailer against the same?
For those who have no idea what I’m talking about, here’s the deal: Zathura is a board game that comes to life when two little boys play it. Sound familiar? Oh, except instead of Jumanji’s monkeys and CGI lions, here the boys are attacked by meteors and have their house somehow move to outer space. I know it sounds lame, but as the tagline says: “Adventure is Waiting”. I just hope it still isn’t waiting when the movie’s over with.
Cynicism aside, the trailer looks fairly interesting, and it is a film targeted at the young audience, so I’m not exactly their demographic. If you can’t find a bootleg copy of the Star Wars trailer to loop endlessly over the weekend, click the link below for the trailer to Zathura or check out the pictures below the link.
