Itís crazy to think that Schindlerís List was filmed all the way back in March of 1993, making this year the 20th Anniversary of Steven Spielbergís famous and important film. This may not be a hot fact that most of us know off of the top of our heads, but luckily Universal Studios Home Entertainment is all over that anniversary date and will be bringing Schindlerís List to Blu-ray for the first time this month.

The Schindlerís Listó20th Anniversary Blu-ray hits the market on March 5 and is a limited edition set that will also be available on DVD for those who are not particularly concerned about picture quality. Since the movie was filmed entirely in black and white the crispness of the picture was pretty stunning at the time of its release, but since then Spielberg has overseen the restoration of the flick from its original 35mm film negative into High Definition, so assumedly, the picture quality is even better.

Schindlerís List is based on a book by Thomas Keneally and follows the story of the real-life factory owner Oskar Schindler who saved the lives of over 1,000 Jewish prisoners during the Holocaust. Because the story is based on a true tale, a lot of the bonus features will be interviews and other segments with historical value. There isnít too much in the way of extras with the set, but if you are planning to purchase, this seems to be a good release for people who donít own the film or are looking to upgrade to HD picture. You can check out the full list of bonus features, below.

Schindlerís Listó20th Anniversary Blu-ray and DVD Extras
  • ďVoices from the List,Ē featuring documentary with testimonies from those who survived the Holocaust thanks to Oskar Schindler.
  • USC Shoah Foundation Story with Steven Spielberg: The director shows how filming Schindlerís list inspired him to establish the USC Shoah Foundation.
