The longtime band member of both The Pixies and The Breeders will no longer play a role in the band that made her a household name. The Pixies will be without a female moving forward, as Deal has officially quit the team. Jack Johnson Filling In For Mumford & Sons At Bonnaroo Prominent English folk rock band Mumford & Sons pulled out of Bonnaroo earlier this week on Thursday to deal with the medical issue of one of the band’s members. The folk rockers were pretty high up on the list of important groups set to play during the music festival and it would stand to reason the festival would look for an equally big name to sign up in the band’s place. On Friday, festival staff announced Jack Johnson has been signed on to take the headlining slot at the big event. Queens Of The Stone Age Tops Daft Punk On Billboard Charts Daft Punk had a nice little two-week run on the Billboard album chart, but the successful Random Access Memories couldn’t hold the number one slot this week. The French duo’s latest musical endeavor was bumped off of the charts by the American band Queens of the Stone Age, which debuted the group’s first album since 2007’s Era Vulgaris this week. There was clearly a lot of anticipation related to the long-awaited release, and it’s no surprise that Queens of the Stone Age’s sixth studio album, …Like Clockwork took the #1 slot. My Morning Jacket Plans One Big Holiday Festival In Mexico My Morning Jacket is planning to party hard next January. The Louisville, Kentucky originated band is selling tickets this month for an event at the Riviera Maya in Mexico which will soon be known as the Hard Rock Riviera Maya. The event is amusingly being dubbed My Morning Jacket’s One Big Holiday. Emblem 3's New Video Chloe Is Proving The X Factor Can Produce A Hit The U.S. version of The X Factor may have finally found a relevant hitmaker. Soon after earning fourth place on the second season of the show, Emblem 3 signed on with Columbia Records and late last week, the group performed their new single, “Chloe,” on Good Morning America, which spawned a little more interest in the music video for the single. As of the time of this writing, Emblem 3’s first big hit has earned over 1.5 million page views on YouTube. Nine Inch Nails Debuts New Song, Announces Full Tour Way back in February, Trent Reznor cemented the new Nine Inch Nails lineup and announced that a new tour would come along shortly. In the time since, the man has also begun putting together new music and on Thursday, Reznor announced big news via the NIN site, including the above new track, called “Came Back Haunted.” Jack White Saves Masonic Temple With Large Donation Jack White has a accrued a lot of interesting and expensive items in the time since the White Stripes made him a celebrity. Daft Punk's Random Access Memories Holds Steady In The Album Charts It’s a pretty big week for music. Daft Punk has been the king of the charts since Random Access Memories dropped a week ago. However, the French electronic duo is not the only impressive release on the album charts in June. This week, Alice in Chains also released a brand new album, which happens to be the biggest chart success the band has put out since 1995. Scott Weiland Countersuing Stone Temple Pilots After Getting Fired The Stone Temple Pilots saga is seemingly never-ending. Just a few months after the band fired lead singer and songwriter Scott Weiland from the group, several lawsuits are keeping each of the band members and former band members tied up in courts. First, the remaining STP members sued Scott Weiland on May 24 for using the band’s name to promote his solo endeavors. Now, Weiland is suing the band, claiming they plotted in secret to be rid of him. Usher And Darius Rucker Sign On For Blake Shelton's Tornado Relief Concert After tornadoes ripped across Oklahoma earlier this month, Shelton was looking for a way to help, and was able to quickly and efficiently put together a relief concert to help those in need after the major disasters. Now, two more names have been added to the already lengthy lineup for the event. Usher and Darius Rucker have both signed on to perform.
