For all of the rumors and wild stories about Taylor Swift’s colorful personal life and strange choices in famous men, the actress has generated tons of lovely headlines over the years for her down-to-Earth interactions with fans. She always seems excited and willing to engage at meet and greets, and over the years, she’s surprised more than a few fans with special little moments—like this one between her and one of her bride-to-be biggest fans.
The fifty-sixth annual Grammy Awards took place in Los Angeles this evening. Quite a few of music’s biggest and brightest artists took home honors, but the biggest single hat tips of the night went to Daft Punk. The duo won both Record of the Year and Album of the Year, topping a slew of popular artists from different genres including Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Robin Thicke and Macklemore.
What did you do last night? If you happened to be one of the lucky two hundred who attended the Winter White Gala at Kensington Palace in London, the answer is “witnessed something too bizarre for words”. Jon Bon Jovi, accepting an award for all of his recent humanitarian work with homeless teens, took the stage to perform his all-time classic track “Livin’ On A Prayer”.
Katy Perry might be a big pop star, now, but it wasn’t so long ago that she was just as starstruck as the rest of us. In fact, one of the first times she was invited to the Grammys, she saved a few unlikely mementos as keepsakes. Those keepsakes included locks of hair from two famous females, Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus.
The singer’s release of her hit album, Red, garnered a lot of attention, as did the subsequent tour and music video releases from the album. Still, Swift’s been working hard in the country music realm over the last several months, opening a school in Nashville. Soon, she’s even set to perform during next month’s Country Music Association Awards and she’s signed on some big names to join her onstage.
Taylor Swift may not be particularly lucky in the love, but the 23-year-old knows how to keep Nashville smitten with her. The “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” singer unveiled the Taylor Swift Education Center on Saturday at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Music City, showing the press and some local high school students the space before the ribbon was officially cut.
If you are part of the population that missed the VMAs—which should include most people over the age of 14—you may not have seen Taylor Swift mutter an expletive under her breath about ex-boyfriend Harry Styles, who also attended the ceremony with his One Direction bandmates. Regardless of the very public moment, Styles says he would still date Swift, and besides, he has his bros to back him.
It’s a little surprising that Swift wouldn’t ask Goulding to sing a song off of Red, but since that album was released nearly a year ago, I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if she was a little tired of performing the same routine every night. Asking people to join her onstage probably allows her to shake things up a little bit and keep things feeling fresh. Plus, if I had to cover a Goulding song, “Anything Could Happen,” is a pretty fun one
That's some deep stuff right there. But what more can we expect from Billy Eichner, who spends at least some of his time running around the sidewalks of New York City
This week, Taylor Swift released the video for her single, “Red,” the namesake of the singer’s most recent album and also the fifth single off of that album. In her new video, Swift takes fans with her onto the stage, showing us her perspective of the audience while performing and taking us through dozens of costume changes during the course of the 4-minute video.
Abercrombie & Fitch is notable for marketing to a particular audience. In fact, the company takes pride in only catering to a niche market, but this time the company may have missed the mark with a shirt meant to poke fun at country and pop singer Taylor Swift. On Friday, the company opted to pull the shirt from shelves rather than deal with the ire of fans.
Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” may have generated more than its share of unfavorable comparisons, but the song is still a massive hit. Its video has generated almost eighty million views on YouTube and countless articles speculating about which of the singer’s many ex-boyfriends the track is about. Thankfully, we finally have our answer, at least if we read between the lines.
To celebrate the beginning of Taylor Swift's Red Tour, the pop singer sent a video in to Good Morning America, announcing she may be in Oklahoma but that she had a surprise for fans. That surprise ended up being the official music for “22,” the fourth single from Swift’s most recent album, Red.
Taylor Swift is no stranger to bad press. From the singer’s voice to her very public relationships with famous men that have pretty much all ended poorly, tabloids have never shied away from criticizing her in the past about a variety of issues, but until this week, they’ve never been able to find fault with the way she treated fans. Unfortunately, a giant bag filled with hundreds of letters from her supporters was found discarded inside a dumpster earlier this week
Earlier this week, Taylor Swift harshly criticized Amy Poehler and Tina Fey for saying she needed to be single and take some time to learn about herself during a joke at the Golden Globes. The pop star channeled Madeline Albright and said there’s a special place in hell for women like the former Saturday Night Live comediennes who refuse to help other women.
