John Doe 1 Hires Gloria Allred For John Travolta Lawsuit
By Mack Rawden 4 years ago
What a difference twenty-four hours can make. Yesterday, John Doe #1 dropped his two million dollar sexual harassment lawsuit against John Travolta, prompting the actor’s attorney to claim his client was completely vindicated. This morning however, John Doe #1 reversed course and hired Gloria Allred. The famed attorney has never met a legal circus she didn’t like, and with her on board, this is shaping up to be one hell of a legal circus.
According to Radar Online, John Doe #1 still hasn’t refilled his lawsuit yet, but Allred is confirming she has taken him on as a client, which means either a settlement or a lawsuit is coming. Given Travolta’s attorney has made it clear he’ll fight to the death before having his client admit to false allegations, this will probably wind up in front of a judge.
Here’s a look at what Allred had to say…
" I represent John Doe #1. Mr. Doe's lawsuit was dismissed without prejudice which means that he is still legally entitled to file another lawsuit against John Travolta if he chooses. We are in the process of conferring with him regarding the next steps, which he may wish to take. Our client and our firm has no further comment at this time."
You would have to think she knows something all of us don’t. After all, John Doe #1 was already dropped by his first attorney, and given Travolta has already proved he wasn’t in Los Angeles on the day in question, any future legal battles will probably be fought from behind. Maybe she’s uncovered some new evidence, or maybe she’s just excited about the attention. We should know shortly.
