One Track Sunday: How To Destroy Angels Keeps It Together In The Studio

Trent Reznor’s success with Nine Inch Nails has led to other varied opportunities, including composing for films and creating music for video games. In the past couple of years, the man has collaborated with Atticus Ross for David Fincher’s films The Social Network and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. He also recently released the theme song for the game Call of Duty: Black Ops II. If that wasn’t keeping the musician busy enough, Reznor’s also formed the group How to Destroy Angels, along with Ross, Mariqueen Maandig (Reznor’s wife), and Rob Sheridan. This week, the band released the video for its new single, called “Keep it Together.”

“Keep it Together” features a pretty simple premise. The members of How to Destroy Angels have come together to perform the song in a darkly lit studio. The video should give fans some idea of the way the group records in a session and what each band member contributes. It’s a little artsy for a video that’s basically an extended look at a recording session, but that’s kind of cool.

“Keep it Together” is the first single off of the band’s second EP, An Omen. If you like what you heard, the EP will be available starting on Tuesday November 13. Columbia Records is behind the release, and hopefully it will do well. I would love to see a full able come from the collaboration.
