Was Beyonce's Super Bowl Press Conference Song Sensational Or Stupid?
By Mack Rawden 2 years ago
Beyonce finally spoke on the record about the prerecorded vocals at the inaugeration controversy, and not surprisingly, the confident pop star did so on her own terms. Using her Super Bowl press conference as her forum, the performer asked everyone in attendance to stand and proceeded to belt out a loud and patriotic version of the National Anthem.
You can take a look at her call out the haters in song form below…
Following the performance, Beyonce took questions from members of the media and outlined exactly what happened. Apparently, she’s been working so hard on her Super Bowl set that she wasn’t able to get to the rehearsal for the inauguration, and since she didn’t want to make her performance a story on the President’s big day, she used a prerecorded track. That decision obviously wound up having the exact opposite effect, but at the time, there was no way she could have possibly known what was going to happen.
In the short time since Beyonce belted out the Anthem, her actions have drawn a pretty polarizing response. Some think this was the ballsiest, coolest way she could have addressed the controversy. Others think her stunt was a little self-indulgent, and she would have been better served by simply explaining what happened.
What do you think? Do you back Beyonce’s performance this afternoon, or do you think she seriously messed up? Let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll below…
