Watch This Jet Skier Put Out A Boat Fire With Huge Waves

In incompetent hands, a jet ski can be an extremely dangerous machine. In competent hands, however, it can apparently be an extremely effective piece of firefighting equipment. At least that’s what some New Zealanders at Lake Lyndon found out. They were watching a boat burn and waiting for emergency personnel to arrive when a quickly moving jet ski started heading straight for the fire. At first they thought the idiot was going to run into it, but after he made a sharp turn and splashed a giant wave over the fire, his true intentions became clear.

Take a look at the amateur firefighting win below…

With no one around, I have no idea how this fire started or what relationship the jet ski driver might have had to it. Regardless, it’s hard not to be truly impressed. Most people run in the opposite direction whenever a fire breaks out, and rightfully so, but this dude trusted his own crazy jet ski abilities to both save the day and keep himself out of harm’s way.

There’s no word on how long it took emergency responders to arrive, or whether they were able to identify the person in the jet ski. One would imagine the boat is still done for, but even so, this mystery firefighter should be holding his head high for a creative and courageous job well done.
