Based on the (fake) bestselling novel of the same name, The Spoils of Babylon will span three generations and timelines, leading viewers into oil fields, battlefields, boardrooms and bedrooms, through a tale involving espionage, booze, pills, infidelity and the Shah of Iran.
A couple of months ago, we learned that Will Ferrell, frequent partner in crime Adam McKay, and several other Funny or Die guys were bringing an original series to IFC called The Spoils of Babylon. The parody of a television miniseries could potentially make a big impact for the little network and very well may, thanks to the all-star cast that has now signed on for The Spoils of Babylon.
While IFC has sort-of become a household name, thanks to Portlandia, a lot of the network’s original programming hasn’t made a huge impression on the cable landscape. IFC is hoping to change that with a brand new original program hailing from the Funny or Die guys, including Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Matt Piedmont, and Andrew Steele.
