When Kim Zolciak May Return To Dancing With The Stars

Dancing with the Stars has had a pretty eventful 21st season, so far. Early in the show’s run, competitor Kim Zolciak—famous for being on Real Housewives of Atlanta--suffered a mini-stroke after competing on the big show. Due to her health issues, she was withdrawn from the series. Regardless, now the ABC competition series is working to bring the reality star back for the Season 21 finale.

Reports on Tuesday indicate that Dancing with the Stars wants Kim Zolciak back, although not specifically to compete in the series. Instead, they want her back for the finale. According to TMZ, the show wants her to perform in several dances, but it isn’t a done deal, yet. Zolciak’s doctor must first ascertain whether or not the reality star is fit enough for such taxing activity.

Zolciak has been pretty vocal about wanting to return to Dancing with the Stars since she had a stroke earlier this TV season. Just about a week ago, the woman spoke out about her love for dancing, and stated she hoped she could continue dancing in the future. Obviously, mini-strokes are serious and do take a while to recover from, and the producers ultimately decided to cut her from the show for the season after she missed a week’s performance. This happened despite the fact that Zolciak was practicing after her mini-stroke and had hoped to continue on the series.

It seemed to be a bummer for the Real Housewives of Atlanta star, but rules are rules and the show must go on. On the bright side, if Dancing with the Stars is able to bring Zolciak back for the finale, hopefully it will mean her relationship with the show is intact enough to bring her back as a main competitor some other time. Dancing with the Stars has been known to bring celebrities back for all-stars seasons, and although Zolciak wasn’t exactly an “all-star” during her first performance on the show, maybe the program will figure out another way to bring her back in.

So far, Dancing with the Stars Season 21 has featured several eliminations, as well as a few super high-end performances. Along with Zolciak’s withdrawal, Chaka Khan and jockey Victor Espinoza were also eliminated. This week, Gary Busey’s wild performances also couldn’t save him from the elimination axe. There are still nine participants left, and as the weeks wear on, we’ll certainly see who has and who doesn’t have the skills to continue. I’m guessing Paula Deen won’t last much longer, either.

You can find out who will make it and who won’t when Dancing with the Stars airs on Monday nights at 8 p.m. ET, only on ABC. (Hopefully, Tom Bergeron will be back soon, too!)
