Parenthood, the latest TV adaptation of the 1989 Ron Moore film, looks like it might be getting down to serious business about being good. Which I hope it is, because that’s a story I’d like to see someone finally make work on a weekly basis. NBC has announced that Peter Krause and Maura Tierney have jumped aboard to play versions of the characters made famous by Steve Martin and Dianne Wiest.
Krause will play Adam Braverman, a married guy with two children who also happens to be a bit crazy. Tierney will play his sister, Sarah Braverman, a single mom. Mae Whitman has joined the cast as Tierney’s 16-year-old daughter, and Sarah Ramos is on board to play Krause’s daughter. Dax Shepard is currently in negotiations to play the youngest Braverman, who happens to be a slacker. So not much of a stretch for Shepard. Craig T. Nelson, who you may remember on Coach but is forever Mr. Incredible to me, is in talks to play the eldest Braverman. A Vietnam vet who is now a hippie and actor. |
