Party Down's Ryan Hansen To Star In Fox Comedy Pilot El Jefe
I refuse to lose hope that actor Ryan Hansen will find a role that gives him the spotlight he deserves. With memorable roles in shows like Veronica Mars and Starz’ underrated comedy series Party Down, I think Hansen is due for a starring role that helps showcase his true potential as a funny actor. Will Fox’s comedy pilot El Hefe be it?
Deadline reports that Hansen has signed on for the lead in a Fox comedy pilot called El Jefe by writers David Guarascio and Moses Port. Hansen will play an “affable but lost 30-year-old.” He’s booted from his home in Brentwood and ends up moving in with his longtime Latin American nanny. This apparently alters his family and work situation, and puts him at odds with his nanny’s “strong-willed son.”
Hansen has made attempts at starring roles in TV shows following his days of Veronica Mars and Party Down. He starred in NBC’s shortlived Friends with Benefits, a comedy that was supposed to air during midseason last year, but ended up getting pushed off until August, when the network burned through twelve of the thirteen episodes before calling it quits on the series. Hopefully things work out better for El Jefe, should it make it past the pilot phase.
