Wilfred To Air Special Preview Episode Before Season 2

Despite Wilfred being a little too strange for a mainstream network audience, on FX the show has crushed, pulling in 2.2 million viewers an episode during its first season -- numbers that were high enough to make the show the most-watched freshman comedy on the network. Now, with Season 2 gearing up for a June 28th premiere, the network has something special in the works.

FX has already put out several promotional videos for Wilfred's second season, but now they’ve pulled one from sister network Fox’s book. In recent years, Fox has offered special preview episodes of some of its shows including Glee and New Girl, and FX will do the same for Season 2 of Wilfred beginning next Thursday, June 14th.

Wilfred’s special preview episode will pop up on a variety of platforms, and when I say variety, I mean you would have to be living under a rock to avoid running into this thing somewhere. The preview will air with most cable and satellite services via Video On Demand, and will also appear on online platforms including Hulu, FX’s own site, and the Wilfred Facebook page.

The episode, titled “Progress,” will feature a plotline that proves Wilfred’s importance on the show and will also star Robin Williams as a special guest. The final airing of “Progress” will occur on June 21st on FX itself, so if you don’t want to deal with a small computer screen to catch it, just make sure your DVR is primed and ready at 10 p.m. ET.

For those sticking with the network's regular programming, Season 2 of Wilfred premieres Thursday, June 28th at 10 p.m. ET.
