12 Days Of Christmas: Stardust

It’s time to celebrate the Christmas/ Chanukah/ Kwanza/ Festivus Holiday season, so here at Cinema Blend we’re enjoying Twelve Days of Christmas. Yes, we know traditionally the “12 days” start with Christmas, but we plan on being celebrated out by that time, so we’re pushing the twelve days leading up to the holiday.

Here at DVD Blend, we’re celebrating by suggesting some of the more impressive DVD sets to come out this year. Think of the list as a buying guide for the movie fanatic in your life, just in case you haven’t thought of something for them already.

On the ninth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me…

A fantastic fantasy story

We’re departing from our typical gift set mentality for one day to promote what my family thinks is the best DVD gift this year: Stardust. The fantasy movie didn’t exactly sell out in theaters this year which is an absolute shame, because it’s one of this year’s most entertaining movies, with a story that rivals The Princess Bride for action, romance, and comedy.

Based on the novel by Neil Gaiman, Stardust tells the story of young Tristan and his journey to collect a fallen star for his beloved. The journey puts him in competition with princes and witches, vying for the same prize. Along the way Tristan encounters pirates, magic, and true love, instead of the silly thing he thought he had at the beginning of the story.

The perfect gift for… anyone who loves The Princess Bride or a good, fun-filled fantastical romance story.
