Tired of picking up a copy of a movie you anxiously waited for, only to find out if you had purchased it somewhere else you could have gotten some cool exclusive extra along with the disc? DreamWorks has been kind enough to send over information about this week’s release of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, letting us know what retail exclusives will be available for the DVD based on where you pick it up.
- Costco will carry a “Sweeney Todd Fleet Street Gift Set (pictured below) that includes the two-disc Special Edition of the DVD as well as a hardcover companion book. The book includes over 200 photos, concept drawings, and production designs, along with samples from the screenplay, interviews with the cast, and a forward by director Tim Burton.
- Best Buy isn’t giving you any extra Sweeney Todd swag, but you do get a free movie ticket to see The Ruins in theaters this Friday.
- Picking your DVD up from Borders gets you an abridged version of the official Sweeney Todd companion book, which offers a behind-the-scenes look at the movie.
- Finally, Suncoast and FYE will carry steel book packaging of the DVD (pictured on right). I have to say, this is the least impressive of all of the offered exclusives, since the packaging on the two-disc version of the DVD is already cool as hell in its standard form.
So there you go. Four different possible exclusives based on where you buy your DVD. Plan your shopping trip now because Sweeney Todd is definitely one of those titles worth owning on DVD.
