If You Dreamt Bedtime Stories Would Hit DVD, It Came True

Let your imagination run wild because Walt Disney Home Studios is releasing Bedtime Stories on Blu-ray and DVD. You’ll have the option to dream big with a 3-Disc Combo Pack on April 5th or go for one of two DVD versions, a 2-Disc Deluxe Edition or a one-disc DVD, on April 7th.

This family fantasy stars Adam Sandler as Skeeter Bronson, a man down on his luck because the opportunity to manage his family’s hotel is stolen from him by the Nottingham Hotel chain. His sister (Courtney Cox) asks him to watch her kids for her and Skeeter gets much more than he bargains for when the bedtime stories he tells them come true. So now, in addition to working to make his way to the top of the hotel chain, Skeeter must deal with the supernatural effects of his bedtime stories. The film also stars Keri Russell as Skeeter’s love interest, Lucy Lawless and Guy Pearce as the evil hotel managers, and Russell Brand as Skeeter’s good friend.

When this film hit theaters, many moviegoers found it to be much more juvenile than they had expected. The film came from the Disney studios and had a PG rating; what did they think it would be like? While adults may not enjoy watching Bedtime Stories in their free time, there is no harm in buying it for the kids and making it a family activity. The premise is unique and the at-home buying options are rather impressive.

As always, there’s the bare bones option of a single-DVD for just $29.99. For $32.99 you can get the 2-Disc Deluxe Edition, which comes with a behind-the-scenes featurette, a segment about Bugsy the big-eyed guinea pig, “To All The Little People,” “Dylan & Cole Sprouse: Blu-ray is Suite,” deleted scenes and, my favorite, bloopers. The 3-Disc version come with everything from the 2-disc one, expect for the Sprouse brothers’ featurette. Exclusive to the Blu-ray version will be access to BD-Live.
