Subscribe To E3 2012: Dead Space 3 Debut Trailer Reinforces The Power Of Co-op Updates
EA unveiled actual gameplay footage at this year's E3 during their live press conference. The game doesn't just sport cooperative multiplayer, but the game seems to be built around a more action-oriented experience as opposed to the claustrophobic corridors and single-man exploration of the first two games.

The debut trailer is short and sweet and gives you a brief hint at what to expect from the game both visually and viscerally. EA also showed off some of the cooperative gameplay for Dead Space 3, as several (engineers?) did battle with a giant crab-claw monster. You can catch brief glimpses of said crab-claw monster in the trailer at the 0:30 mark.

At this point it's hard to tell if there will be any actual survival-horror elements or if it will be systematically replaced with a casual co-op and more wide-open areas to accommodate a second player.

We know multiplayer survival horror can be done right, I mean, just look at DayZ. However, doing multiplayer wrong could completely ruin the horror elements by turning it into a dude-bro shooter. Hopefully that's not the case here and Visceral Games has a fully fleshed suite of horror elements in store to keep us on the edge of our seats throughout the main campaign of Dead Space 3.
